Richard Schisano

Prior to joining Thomas J. Murphy, Richard Schisano served as the divisional manager of both the Poughkeepsie and White Plains division of the Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. During his tenure at the court Richard specialized in consumer bankruptcy, co-authoring the current loss mitigation procedure as well as modifying both the chapter 13 plan and order currently in use at the court.

Prior to his tenure with the court he spent 30 years representing clients in all aspects of consumer bankruptcy, real estate transactions, drafting wills, trusts, and litigating estate matters as a partner in a local law firm. Mr. Schisano received his B.S. in accounting from Fordham University in 1976 and his J.D. degree from Seton Hall Law School in 1979.

He has recently completed the latest update of the electronic filing chapter of Collier's Bankruptcy Practice Guide. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Greater Hudson Valley Bankruptcy Bar Association, past President of the Greater Newburgh Bar Association and has lectured on various bankruptcy topics throughout the State.

Gisele C. Rosado

Murphy & Schisano is pleased to welcome back Gisele C. Rosado, Esq. Gisele is licensed to practice law in the states of New York and Florida, as well as various federal district courts. In 2007, Gisele joined the firm as an Associate Attorney. Although a Hudson Valley native, Gisele has spent the last seven years lending her legal expertise to distressed homeowners in South Florida, one of the regions hardest hit by the 2007 mortgage crisis. She has worked closely with members of the National Association of Consumer Advocates, pioneering foreclosure defense strategies and tactics against the big banks. Currently, the focus of Gisele's practice is consumer bankruptcy, foreclosure defense, loan workouts, debt negotiation, real estate transactions, and complex civil litigation. She has served as lead counsel in numerous court actions, arbitrations, and mediations in both state, federal and appellate courts. She is also fluent in English and Spanish. Betsey Lee

Betsy Lee is a legal assistant and has been working with this office for over 15 years. She works on real estate transactions, both residential and commercial, including closing of mortgage loans for banks. She also assists with the preparation of wills, formations of corporations/limited liability companies, residential / commercial leases and criminal litigation. She assists our Spanish speaking clients, as she is bi-lingual. She was born and raised in Newburgh, is married with three children.

Victoria Decker

Victoria Decker is a legal assistant who has recently joined our firm. Victoria has 25 years' experience in all phases of individual and corporate bankruptcy. Victoria has been case manager for a Poughkeepsie Division Chapter 7 panel Trustee, managing all case files to which the Trustee was appointed. Victoria also has extensive experience in creditors' rights in bankruptcy, as well as collection litigation, judgment enforcement and asset recovery. She assists with all of the firm's bankruptcy filings. She was born and raised in New Windsor and currently resides in the Town of Shawangunk with her husband and two children.
